The fourth inter-faith tournament organised by Community Football Academy proved to be a big winner.

More than 180 youngsters from Leicester mosques, schools and community groups descended on Judgmeadow Community College to compete in two age groups.

The under-11 section was won by Humberstone Junior School who beat Umar Mosque 1-0.

ICCF from Highfields lifted the under-13 cup by beating the mosque teams from Evington 4-1 on penalties.

The event was supported by Leicestershire Constabulary and the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA.

Ahmed Maravia, tournament co-ordinator, said: "Football breaks down barriers.

"We love the game because when we play race, religion, culture and colour takes a back seat."
